What is happening to vox??

I always always miss reading some of the posts of my friendly neighbors here

and i always look forward to reading their posts when i go home from the clinic because it is an effective stress-buster...

Am i supposed to upgrade anything, tweak controls??

this has been happening for over a month now....

 

 

 

 

My New Year ritual

every year, as the clock strikes 12:00 AM January1, i.....

jump like crazy

shake my piggy bank like crazy

i shout HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

 

why?

common belief is that if you jump at new year, you will get taller ( I always believe in this) and if you shake your piggy bank ( of course with coins and bills) money will be plenty for you..shouts and fireworks to counteract and drive away evil spirits...

dunno.. i always always believe in this ritual, i have been doing it since i was probably 7 years old or so...

sadly... i wasnt able to jump, shout and shake this year =C

i slept..at around 11:20pm.. then when i woke up from my lil nap, its already 1 am.. i think i was really really exhausted that even the loud bangs of the fireworks couldnt even wake me up

 

Poor lil me.. does it mean that i wont get any taller ( im 5'5") and i wont have more moolah( oh no!!!!)

I have a made a resolution ( and please please, make it possible for me to fulfill my part) that i wont buy anymore makeup unless i dont have it...... I just made an inventory of my eyeshadow collections.... Goodness gracious! Didnt know i have that much e/s... and i dont even wear them as much...

One good thing about my "inventory" is that i was able to realize that i have so many shades/variations of this color, that i can use them for a "look".. I have been watching tuts right and left, and i realize whats lacking in my technique.. i have picked up tips how to recreate this look, so as soon as i have some free time, ima experiment!

Good thing tomorrow is an official working day, so i guess my postman will be doing the rounds. Please pray that he hands me over my Silknaturals, Lumiere, and Valerie.. Fyrinnae i think not yet coz it was shipped recently only...

If he DO that, you can bet i will give a "lil something" to him that will make his holidays more cheerful....

I will try to curb my spending. Just realized how much i have been spending, for someone not yet working, ( i will have to finish my internship Plus pass my board exams for Occupational therapy)... i am spending a lot. Too much actually.. Yikesss!!!!!

 

Prebuy update!! YAHOOOOOOOO!!

After the long wait, the Pre Buy Brushes are FINALLY here!!

I want everyone to read and understand how we are doing this:

We will start shipping Monday morning.

The order in which we received the orders will be the order in which we ship them meaning:

if you were one of the ones that ordered early, you will get yours shipped FIRST.

if you ordered very late - you will get yours shipped later

We have about 700 orders to ship so PLEASE alott us the proper time to get these pulled, packaged & labeled for shipping (this does take time so be patient please)

Since there are so many orders and we want to get these out to you as soon as possible we will NOT be shipping through Paypal, why???

Because making labels through paypal take a very long time to, find your order, click into all of the links, fill out the info and then wait forever (ok, not forever but close enough:) to pop up a label to print.

INSTEAD we will use our alternative shipper - Pitney Bowes - with this system it does NOT send out a notification that your order is shipped BUT, as time permits (getting the orders out is #1 priority) we will email you the customs # or the delivery confirmation # - These are NOT "tracking" numbers - USPS simply does not have this option for anything but EXPRESS mail so PLEASE do not ask us to track an order for you - we cannot.

PLEASE - do NOT - email us asking when "your" order will be shipped exactly, as said theres about 700+ of these and we just cannot predict or go through them all to count how many are ahead of yours. I CAN say though we have been very good at organizing these so it should not take more than 7-10 days (and hopefully MUCH sooner than that) to get these all shipped :)

OK. Theres a few things on the brushes I need to tell you:

1. because of the time constriction that we had (its the holiday season and its very busy) the manufacturer used what they had available for packaging. We were supposed to have a pvc packaging that was reusable - didn't happen :( What we DID get was packaging that looks like it belongs in a child's easter basket!! its not HORRENDOUS but, its certainly not anything I would pick out but hey, just take it out of the plastic bag and they are fine.

2. There was a mix up on brushes:

The "smudger" brush is wrongly labeled as the "chisel" brush - again, I just noticed this as its the first time I have laid my eyes on them so, not time to send them back. I do apologize and hope that you will all kindly understand it was a mistake.

Now the good part, these brushes are GORGEOUS! I really think that they came out just beautiful my top picks are the:

Contour

Large Flat Top (alot like the one before just wider - this is a very dense brush, great for a medium to heavy coverage)

ANY of the Fiber Optics - 1st time for me on those and I just love them to apply blush, radiances - this is like the brush for blush dummies! you will get a PERFECT amount - NO more "clown" cheeks!

Eye Buki

Retractable Kabuki - its a bigger brush but still totally portable and no more messes in your purse.

Well, thats all I really got to try out, I will be excited to hear how you all like them!

im an official MAC addict. Okay not as like others out there, but slowly beginning to be.

I got myself a Moss Scape paintpot that cost me 1100php..roughly $24.44.. and if in not mistaken, its about $17.50 only in US? no pro discount..=C

I promised myself a holiday set

i already have some MAC goodies such as MAC MSF in porcelain pink, Blush in peachtwist, and MAC Raquel welsch blush in Smile

I am in love. I used to have The Big Juice and American cream, and i looooove it. But since i have used them up, i didnt buy anymore . Lush isnt that accessible to my place. i happen to go to Shang just to catch up with some girl friends.

I stepped inside Lush store and i literally felt heaven has open up. It smells so divine, my olfactory sense felt it has been babied.carressed.. ok stop now Joyce, you are making the Vox ladies nervous...

I got myself a Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo and Coolaulin conditioner.. ON SALE! top that..!! i paid like 325php for both the jars.

I wished i have gotten more, but since i already burned moolah, i thought , i should restrain myself

I was asking the SA if they give out samples or slivers of soap, and they said they dont.. Oh no! how would i know if its good if i dont get to try? im spoiled by MMU samples so im looking for samples of everything

I saw their brightening rice water line, and i realllly wanna try the cream. Anyone here who have use it? How was it? its only for less than 500 php and i wanna wanna wanna..!

Shopping last week..

I was feeling down the dumps, probably due to rain, so what i did was to go to the nearby mall and shop at the health and beauty aisle.

*Rant: So i was carrying all the stuff i was planning to buy while checking out the other stalls. The SAs didnt even bother to give me a basket, chatting endlessly among themselves, and due to my arms being full already, the ever bilena mascara rolled from my arms and it broke on the floor. The damn * forgive the language, im really mad* one of the SA immediately started screamin her head off " she broke it! like 5 times" i told her in my most cold voice and said " dont worry, im gonna pay it" that shut her up real fast. She walked away from me before i could even call the the floor manager and complain. UGGGH!

ok rant over.... I bought the shampoo, conditioner, hair dye and facial bleach for preparation ,for my upcoming grad pic... Yipee!!! Im so excited to graduate

I managed to take home the broken mascara, and turned it into a tinted brow mascara with just a bit of multipurpose minerals. Transferred into a pot... Yipee!  so it wasnt a waste afterall...

im lucky to able to test Dayna's Minerals. Dayna mailed me the package on a Wednesday, and i got it on monday or tuesday! Fast shipping

I received DL1, DL2, L1 (Lili peach) and tealy. Thanks Dayna!

I was so excited and tried DL2 first, which looked very very similar to the foundations i am using. I tried my preferred method of application.

Base app wet using Lumiere Ftop- DL2

2nd Layer dry app using UGG Ftop- DL2 with a bit of L1(lili)

 

i love the coverage. Its medium to heavy coverage, yet with light to medium feeling. The color still needs a bit of tweaking, but i got to admire dayna's ability to formulate shades as the only info i told her is that in Lumiere, im a lt-med golden.

I tried tealy, and it really is gorgeeeeeoooossss.. But for the life of me, i just cant take a decent shot of me wearing it. i cant take a pic of me in the sunlight with eyes open. So please dont laugh at my pic with closed eyes.
